One of the things that the kids were the most excited to do on vacation was to go swimming in the lake. Baby E was particularly excited about the prospect even though he doesn’t know how to swim.

The first day we went swimming he clung to me the entire time, even though he was wearing his life jacket. By the end of the day, however, he was letting me release him as long as I was within reach.

The next day he got a little braver and insisted I didn’t need to be constantly by his side.

By the third day of swimming he was a pro. As long as there was a cousin to swim around with, he was happy!
